- Symptoms :
- Colonization of senescent petals and destruction of whole flowers which rot, brown or even blacken.
- Abortion of young fruits; moist lesions on fruits (initiating from senescent sepals or remnants of floral parts, wounds) rapidly evolving into moist and soft rot (figures 1 and 2 - aubergine) (figures 6 and 7 - pepper).
- Damp, dark green to brown lesions on stems (in the cortex in particular) causing leaf wilting and drying.
- Wet damage on leaflets and on leaves evolving into rot (figures 3 to 5 - aubergine)(figure 8 - pepper).
- Rotting and destruction of young shoots.

- Signs : a blackish and airy mold more or less covers the rotten fabrics. Fruiting bodies in the form of tiny black pinheads are visible.
- Possible confusion : rots with Mucorales ( Rhizopus , Mucor ), Botrytis
- Production areas affected :
