larva (pl. larvae) : juvenile ; growth stage between embryo and adult
latent : present but not manifested or visible, as a symptomless infection by a pathogen (for example a micro-organism)
latence : the time between contamination and differenciation of the first fructifications
mycelium (pl. mycelia) : mass of hyphae constituting the thallus, or body, of a fungus
microsclerotium (pl. microslerotia) : microscopic, dense aggregate of darkly pigmented, thick-walled hyphal cells
mutation : heritable genetic change within a cell
nematicide : usually a chemical agent that kills or inhibits nematodes ; a pesticide
oogonium (pl. oogonia) : female gametangium structure of some oomycetes, containing one or more gametes
oospore : thick-walled, sexually derived (from antheridium and oogonium) resting spore of an oomycete (Pythium, Phytophthora...)
ostiole : round pore (opening) through which pycnidia and perithecia release their spores
