Hail damage
Following heavy rains, accompanied by hail , it is not uncommon to observe significant damage to salad crops. Indeed, their leaves, by the tender nature of the tissues, are particularly vulnerable to hailstones. The latter, by striking the limbus, cause holes, tears, localized necrotic alterations, corresponding to their points of impact. Some leaves can be totally shredded, especially the more spread out outer leaves. Plants near the harvest are very vulnerable.
As a rule, a high proportion or even all of the plants are affected in the plot.
