Description of the mite

• The female mite Colomerus vitis are whitish in color, having a fusiform body 200 microns long and 50 microns wide, in the shape of a flattened oval in its rear part. Males are about a third smaller. The abdomen is provided with pseudo-annelations which are not metamerizations, with 80 granular ridges. The triangular dorsal shield lacks an anterior lobe.

• The eggs are white, spherical and smooth, they measure 30 µm in diameter.

• After hatching, the larval phase passes through 4 stages: 2 mobile and 2 immobile called "pupae". The larval legs are shorter than in adults (6 articles instead of 7).
