The Turnip mosaic virus (TuMV) has a wide host range including various cultivated crucifers (cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, Chinese cabbage, radish, turnip, rutabaga, mustard. .), but also species belonging to 19 other genera of Dicotyledons. Many weeds are likely to harbor it, such as Capsella bursa-pastoris or Stellaria media . Some floral species, such as anemone, petunia or zinnia, are also susceptible.


- Transmission, dissemination

TuMV is transmitted by more than forty aphid species in the non-persistent mode, in particular by Myzus persicae , Aphis craccivora and Macrosiphum euphorbiae .

There is no seed transmission of the virus in lettuce, escaroles and curly leaves.
