Sclerotinia sclerotiorum
(Lib.) De Bary, (1884)

Sclerotinia minor Jagger 1920

Sclerotinioses

- classification : Fungi, Ascomycota, Leotiomycetes, Leotiomycetidae, Helotiales, Sclerotiniaceae
- English name: Sclerotinia drop, watery soft rot

These two ascomycetes fairly polyphagous are widely distributed throughout the world. Although S. minor is occasionally reported on tomato, most of the damage to this nightshade is caused by S. sclerotiorum , whatever the production areas. These fungi attack both seedlings and adult plants. The economic losses recorded in some countries are sometimes not insignificant.

In France, we find the same situation with a quasi-dominance of S. sclerotiorum which one observes as well in open field as under cold shelters.
