Protection methods

 

  • The destruction of pruning allows the elimination of eggs in winter. Chemical control is generally not considered except in the event of an outbreak of this leafhopper (see the database e-phy ). 
  • The eggs of the bison leafhopper can be parasitized by a chalcidian micro-hymenoptera of the Mymaridae family, Polynema striaticorne Lacewings Girault 1911. (Figure 1) and predatory bugs (Figure 2) feed on the larvae.
