• Type of vegetable : underground organs
• Optimum growth pH range: 5.5-6.5
• Optimal growth temperature range : 15-18°C
• Organic matter requirements : demanding plant
• Rooting : superficial (45 to 60 cm)
• Special requirements : tuberization in short days but require cool nights (optimum 16°C). Temperatures above 29°C can inhibit the formation of tubers. Possible in the dry season but not very suitable for Mayotte: temperatures and diseases (mainly bacterial wilt and mildew).
