This Fusarium , which is a specialized form of Fusarium solani (Mar.) Sacc. 1881, is reported in several countries around the world (South Africa, United States, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Holland, France, Spain, Greece, Italy, Tunisia, Iran ...), affecting several Cucurbits: pumpkins, pumpkin, Butternut squash, zucchini, melon , cucumber, watermelon ... It attacks the crown and the roots of these plants, but also their fruits causing mainly rots.

Two races are known in this fungus: race 1 , widely distributed in the world, attacks the lower part of the stem, the roots, but also the fruits of cucurbits; the race 2 , more confidential (USA, Tunisia ) only affects sensitive species the fruits of this botanical family.
