Colletotrichum spp.

Ripe berry rot - Ripe rot

This cluster problem, caused by several species of Colletotrichum , did not seem to occur in France to our knowledge. With global warming, it begins to manifest itself in our country in some vineyards with ripe berries, and therefore near the harvest. If the climatic conditions are very humid during this period, the damage can be very damaging, a high proportion of affected clusters being observed. Colletotricum acutatum is the species isolated from grape berries in France.

The Colletotrichum spp. are fungi widely distributed in the world, in particular in the tropics, rather polyphagous, affecting a more or less wide range of plants. They are frequently associated with various crops with diseases called anthracnoses, which is not the case on vines: anthracnose on this Vitaceae being attributed to Elsinoë ampelina .
