damping-off : rapid, lethal decline of germinating seed or seedlings often associated to collar and/or root lesions
dissemination : final stage of a disease during which inoculum will be freed and disseminated (spread of infectious material from diseased to healthy plants)
enation : A small outgrowth on the surface of a plant organ (veins)
endemic : prevalent in or peculiar to a particular locality (a disease with low frequency and relatively constant over time)
epidemiology : study of factors influencing the iniation, development, and spread of disease
epidermis (adj. epidermal) : outer layer of cells of leaves, young stems, and young roots
endoconidium (pl. endoconidia) : conidium formed inside mycelial hypha
enzyme : a protein that catalyzes a specific biochemical reaction
flagellum (pl. flagella) : hairlike appendage on motile cell of bacteria or zoospores providing locomotion
fungicide : substance lethal to fungi which inhibites their growth or germination of spores
fructification(s) : spore productions, or spores produced by fungus
fumigant : vapour-active (volatile) disinfectant used against micro-organisms and other pests (particularly in the soil)
gene : the heriditary unit located on chromosomes, plasmids or on organelles in the cytoplasm, coding for a specific protein
