Pests of stored leaves, Lasioderma serricorne (cigarette beetle) and Ephestia elutella (tobacco moth)

The larva of <i><b>Lasioderma serricorne</b></i> is curved and whitish. It makes galleries in stored tobacco. The adult, found also in warehouses, is red-brown and measures 2 to 2.5 mm long.
The larvae of <i><b>Ephestia elutella</b></i>, a very small lepidoptera, mainly devours the leaf parenchyma, leaving untouched the veins and midribs.
