Other alterations and abnormalities of the roots
(superficial suberization, blackheads, cysts, galls ...)



In various parasitic situations, the roots of the tomato can present suberizations, even deformations which are shown in Figures 1 to 4.

In the presence of such symptoms, the hypotheses can be made parasitic following :

- Colletotrichum coccodes
- Pyrenochaeta lycopersici
- Thanatephorus cucumeris ( Rhizoctonia solani )
- Spongospora subterranea f. sp Mediterranean
- Meloidogyne spp. (root-knot nematodes)
- Orobanche spp.
