Chesnut blight management
Preventive methods :
Avoid grafting injuries.
Pruning and removal of infected parts.
Biological control :
Biological control is possible by inoculation of a virus (CryphonectriaHypoVirus) which is responsible for this decrease in aggressiveness of some strains of C. parasitica, called hypovirulent. This virus is well established in formerly infected chestnut stands (southern half of France).
