Septoria lycopersici is described on practically all continents and in many countries, in the open field as well as in shelters. It is therefore present in Europe, in particular in several countries in the East or bordering France (Germany, Italy, etc.). Although observed in France many years ago, it does not seem to be manifesting itself in our territory at the present time. In conditions of prolonged humidity, it is likely to cause very significant damage causing significant destruction of the foliage and, subsequently, sunburn on fruits.

Two breeds were isolated in the United States many, many years ago.
