Symptoms - damage
The aphids, subsequent to their nutritional bites are reponsables punctuation chlorotic and deformation of young leaves that have tendency to curl and roughly blister (Figures 1 and 2). Leaves, like fruits (Figures 3 and 4) can be colonized. A reduction in the growth of young shoots, or even plants, can be observed.
In addition to aphid colonies, we often observe white molts and the presence of honeydew on the surface of the aerial organs of the zucchini on which grows sooty mold (figure 5). It should be remembered that the latter can have several consequences, in particular a reduction in photosynthesis and leaf respiration and the soiling of the fruits thus rendered unmarketable.
