Good preparation of environmental conditions
The major sources of diseases are found in the immediate environment of plants. They are numerous and some of them should not be underestimated. Such sources are the irrigation water, air flows, soil or soil dust, the substrate, the material used (pots, polystyrene trays, tools ...), insects and even the grower through his fingers, his clothes, his shoes ..
We will follow the production cycle of tobacco plants chronologically and present a number of measures you may already use or that you should adopt. Please note that many of these measures are intended for seedling producers working in greenhouses and using either small clods or floating seedbed system (figure 1). However, most of these measures are also applicable to any plant producing farmer even a traditional one (figure 2).
