Chemical Injuries
After transplanting, many chemical injuries can occur. They are particularly related to the residual effects of one or more herbicides used on the previous crop or their misuse in pre-or post-planting. Figures 1-5 demonstrate the nature of the symptoms caused by chemical injuries.

Note also that some fertilisers used in planting are often watersoluble and can be found at the soil level and roots at high concentrations. In this case, plants grow slowly and sometimes die (figure 6).
