Final diagnosis


Geothichum candidum

Half of this mature fruit shows wet rot.  The liquefied tissues more or less collapsed, and the epidermis eventually split longitudinally.  Note the presence of a dense whitish mucus on the exposed flesh.  <b> <i> Geotrichum candidum </i> </b> (sour rot)
Several conidiophores of <b> <i> Geotrichum candidum </i> </b> form chain cylindrical conidia.
