 Excess salt


Other abiotic causes may be responsible for chlorosis of leaflets and leaves. It may be an excess of salt (Figure 1).

Although the tomato is considered relatively tolerant to salt, damage related to excess ( salt damage ) can be observed in some production areas, especially arid or semi-arid. Affected plants are often small and not very vigorous. The leaflets are more or less chlorotic in color (figure 2). The lower leaves are particularly affected: of a more marked yellow, they can end up falling. Differences in sensitivity between cultivars can be observed.
