Passalora fulva is an parasitic fungus almost predominantly leaf . It causes light green to pale yellow spots , with diffuse contours, located rather on the leaflets of the lower leaves (Figure 1). A down, initially whitish then purplish to olive brown, gradually covers the spots on the underside of the leaf blade (figure 2). Eventually, the tissues in the center of the spots turn brown, necrotize and dry out as the leaves curl. Under very favorable conditions, P. fulva sporulates also on the upper surface of the blade, which it covers more or less (figure 3). The disease then spreads to the upper parts of the plants while the entire old leaves eventually dry out completely and sometimes fall off. The stem can also be affected .

The flowers are rarely attacked, but when they are, they die before fruit set. Irregular lesions develop from time to time on fruits green or mature : black in color, with a diffuse border, they give rise to stalk rot .
