- Symptoms :
- Small reddish to brown lesions 1 to 2 mm in diameter becoming lighter in their center.
- Subsequently, the spots expand and are round in shape, reaching from 3 to 5 mm. of diameter. their center takes on a whitish to gray hue, while their periphery is reddish-brown.
- Similar but elongated lesions are sometimes visible on petioles and stem.
- Severely affected leaves turn yellow, dry out, and may drop.

- Signs : Fruiting bodies of the fungus dot the lesions, sometimes giving them a slightly light gray tint.
- Possible confusion : rare
