Mites are arthropods, of the class Arachnids (like spiders) and are not insects. Several groups of mites include harmful species, divided into three main families: Tetranychidae or red spider mites, Tarsonemidae (tarsonemas or deforming acariosis) and Eriophyidae or phytoptes (such as bronze mite).
These arthropods never have wings or antennae, and have 2 to 4 pairs of legs depending on the families and stages of development. They are biters-emptiers of plant cells from leaves, fruits or stems.
