Prophylaxis

  • Definition and role in the reduction of phytosanitary products : compliance with "good agricultural practices" must make it possible to rationalize the use of chemical inputs, in particular thanks to preventive cultural practices. Prophylaxis, with in particular the disinfection of work tools, is an integral part of these good practices aimed at disfavoring the establishment and development of bioaggressors.
  • Against which pests? Aerial and soil pests, diseases and weeds.
  • On which crops? All tropical crops.
  • When ? At different stages of cultivation and during the fallow period.
  • In what conditions ? These depend on crops and pests. They require a good knowledge of the biology of the bioaggressors likely to attack the crop, in particular their modes of propagation.
  • Regulations : check that the use of the disinfectants used is still authorised.
  • Working time : increase in the short term, but preventive tasks can reduce or avoid curative tasks later.
  • Compatibility of alternative techniques with each other : compatible and recommended with all other techniques.
